Exactly, so you agree it shouldn't be compared to gravity, thank you :)
It has not and can not be demonstrated, therefore comparing it to gravity is silly, and a very poor argument.
They are both considered "Theory and Fact", that's the comparison. We know gravity is there, why hasn't it made this jump from theory? That's how it will always be.
You're right and that's only because there's no time machine. The collected data and still being held up after thousands of experiments proves it, no time-machine is needed.
It is far from "proven".
While I do strongly believe in evolution and the big bang theory, I recognize that is has not been proven, and its not fair to say its a fact, without having proof.
I harp all the time about being factual and truthful, especially to those who are religious, so I feel its my duty to also remain factual and truthful.
But, I do find it funny that people who are so harsh and totally throw out evolution because we came from monkeys, still believe that people just appeared, people came from ribs, live in whale's mouths, etc.. lol
But on the OP, I think its completely fine to teach a bible class, if its done in the right connotations. If its not a religious class, just an anicent history class-type atmosphere, I have no problems with it. But, it should not just be a bible class, it should be a religion class, to make sure everything is equal as to not show favortism towards one religion.
I think I may be the OP you were talking about. I totally agree that it should not be a christian or bible class, it should be a religion class, and it should be an elective.
might have been, not sure. I dont have a problem with people studying the bible at all, as long as its the right connotations, and not a religious type studying, but a learning type studying.
But a theory in evolution is actually fact, until proven it isn't. The theory comes after the data/facts, to explain them, it will always be a theory. It's overwhelmingly accepted as where we came from in the scientific community. Now is everything completely clear? No. That's not because of doubt, but it's still fairly new...more and more evidence will be discovered as time goes on and as technology advances. It's only become more solidified, that leads me to believe it'll continue. It shouldn't even be debatable about it being taught in schools or beside creationism.
As for the Bible class, it shouldn't be taught, unless it's apart of one big religious text class. That isn't what this is though, I do hope they catch lawsuits out the ass.

THEORY IS NOT FACT. It's "assumed for the sake of argument or investigation" as in 6a above. But it is not FACT.
You can talk circles around it all you want, but you're wrong on this one, buckaroo.
